It strikes me every time I go food shopping or within the confines of a car park how many people forget the rules of the road. why would someone think it is appropriate to let their child, who can barely walk with assistance, walk where moving vehicles are? these vehicles are certainly not going at any speed, but 50% of the drivers also only have one eye on the road, as they are definitely either leaving the area, or trying to find a park, with blind spots all over the place for the hapless to be run down!however this is only half the story of a car park, one also has to deal with the pedestrians who inevitably get the one trolley (which is over filled) that is impossible to steer, and simply walk out in-front of what ever is there like it is their right to be walking in the middle of a road. Sure it is a car park, although this fact does not negate the rules of the road, it is still a place governed by the respective rules, yes the disabled parking space is for those who need the space, not the massive 4x4 driven by the body builder.
Well that was only the first part of the issue, then comes navigating the hoards of people who can not decide if they are staying in the shop or leaving, those leaving and those trying to get a trolley to go in, what to do then? hope the irritated and confused don't level you with their shopping. Fortunately the choosing what to get is only hampered by staff who decide to block the isle with a cage and people who are trying to decide between nineteen things which are identical in every way except price, although, still manage to block the one thing you are trying to get.
Then the checkout, AAARRRGGGG... the one cashier you go to just so happens to be slow, so slow you end up having to ask them not to read the paper you are trying to buy, or accuse your products of leaking oil over the conveyor (it doesn't matter if it is already there the one thing with oil in it at the end of the shopping is at fault??? Just to make matters better, the scales are not working properly so takes two extra minuets per item.
Eventually the shopping is paid for every thing needed is there, and all that one needs to do now is put it in the car and go home, then you realize you have to navigate through all the people who do not know if they are leaving or not, those who are leaving, and those who are entering, but you manage to get stuck behind those who have no idea what to do so stand between the doors blocking everyone confused how to navigate around the person who is trying to get in.
Just to top everything off, even if you see the lunacy happening, you are still acting in exactly the same way as everyone else!
Shopping trips are very often like this for me, I dread shopping in supermarkets for food, and have observed this type of behaviour several times and that even though I can see others doing it I myself follow suit and act in the same way at times. it is both funny and sad.
